“Using ordered and controlled relationships of parallel lines and by considering their proximity, grouping, scale and repetition I am attempting to recreate a system analagous to basic landscape.
This depends to a large extent upon the interplay of sky and ground and tone and color. By using purely formal relationships I have tried to erase all the emotional reactions to landscape in order to produce a bland, “instant”, cardboard replica series of images.
These images find some response in our highly structured suburban communities in term of their almost total two-dimensionality.”
