Barbara McCann

Barbara McCann was born in Pennsylvania and quickly began to display her artistic talents. At the age of 18 she took a four year apprenticeship in architectural design, a field she would go on to spend the next 20 years in. Barbara’s talents and experience landed her a position teaching at the Ringling College of Art and Design from 1983 to 1993.
Barbara studied oils with acclaimed figure painter Marilyn Bendell and later discovered the works of Nicola Simbari, an Italian artist whose vision and style has been an enduring inspiration for her. Barbara’s use of the palette knife gave her works an additional feeling of life and activity transforming otherwise serene scenes into windows to other places.
Having been collected across the globe, sadly she passed away in 2012.
